Curriculum

Curriculum for the Infants
Infants need more than changing, feeding and holding. They need to be talked to, sung to, and have stories told to them, along with finger plays, as they progress in age. Age-appropriate toys are available for the learning process. We provide space for exploration and movement. Infants constantly move from swings to saucers to high chairs to floor activities. We stimulate infants as much as possible to help develop their learning processes.

Toddlers
Toddlers need activities to help them develop language skills, self-confidence, problem solving skills, socialization and interaction skills. We help them to develop these through group play and activities, art, music, finger plays, dancing, stories, nursery rhymes and small and large motor skills. We prepare them to begin our preschool classes. We introduce them to concentration skills and comprehension skills through repetition and questions during a story or finger play session. We also talk about today and tomorrow as an introduction to time.

Two’s
This is our introductive preschool class. Days are packed with fun and exciting things to do and learn. We begin the process of teaching children that learning can be fun. This is done through art, music, finger plays, dancing, stories, nursery rhymes, and small and large motor skills. Children are introduced to the alphabet, numbers, shapes, imagination play, science, language development and very basic math concepts. Problem solving skills are enhanced, as well as concentration and comprehension skills. To learn more about our class, come by for a visit.

Three’s
This is our beginning preschool class. We prepare children for the pre-kindergarten class. Our students have fun and exciting days learning and playing. We help them develop skills for language, reading, problem solving, socialization, comprehension, concentration, self-control, self-esteem, hygiene, and general awareness. The classroom is more structured and children learn to follow directions through classroom routines. The children enjoy science, math, reading, music and many other activities. Visit us and see how much we enjoy learning.

Pre-Kindergarten
Getting children ready for kindergarten is very important. Children need to develop skills that will help them in kindergarten, as well as through their other school years. Comprehension skills and concentration skills will help them to learn many things during their lives and are very important skills to have in order to make it through school successfully. Our program is very structured, and class routines are very close to the ones used in kindergarten. This helps the children to adapt more readily to a school environment. We use sight readers for reading skills, and we have a basic math book we use for basic math skills. Science, weather, telling time by the hour, the days of the week, the months of the year, seasons, writing, reading, science, learning to tie our shoes and P.E. are just a few things we have fun with. Children will graduate into kindergarten in cap and gown. Our graduation is held at Boyd Elementary School. It takes about 1½ hours for them to complete the graduation process on graduation night. We see them on stage and feel proud of their accomplishments - and you will too. They exhibit pride, self-esteem and confidence in themselves and readiness to begin public school. Visit us and let us show you our beginning journey to confident young boys and girls.
